Building a team to understand the world.

Our Goal: Reflecting the World We Explain

To truly help everyone “Understand Your World, Easily,” TheMacroEdition believes our team should reflect the diverse perspectives and experiences of the world we cover. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where different voices are welcomed, valued, and contribute to our mission.

Our Current Team

TheMacroEdition began with a small, collaborative team led by founder Chandra Mouli, initially including close friends who shared the vision for simpler news. While our beginnings are rooted in this core group, the values of inclusivity and recognizing diverse viewpoints have been important from the start.

Our Commitment to Diversity in Future Staffing

As TheMacroEdition grows, we plan to recruit freelancers, employees, contractors, and contributors. When we do, we are committed to:

  1. Equal Opportunity: We aim to provide equal opportunities to all qualified individuals, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
  2. Seeking Diverse Talent: We will actively work to attract candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. We believe diverse perspectives strengthen our content and our understanding of the world.
  3. Fair Evaluation: Our hiring decisions will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and the potential to contribute to our mission, while also valuing the unique insights that diversity brings.
  4. Building an Inclusive Culture: We want TheMacroEdition to be a place where everyone feels respected, valued, and able to contribute their best work. We are committed to creating and maintaining such an environment as our team expands.

Why This Matters to Us

A diverse team isn’t just a policy goal; it’s essential for a news organization aiming for clarity and broad understanding. Different viewpoints help us challenge assumptions, cover stories more comprehensively, and connect better with our diverse audience.

This is an Ongoing Commitment

Building a truly diverse and inclusive team is a continuous process. We are committed to learning and improving our practices as we grow. While we may not issue formal demographic reports as a small organization, this policy outlines the principles that guide our current team dynamics and all future staffing decisions.
