Have you ever seen a car that looks like it’s from the future? According to HT Auto, a company called Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is making a very special electric car called the Type 00 Concept. This new car will come to Mumbai, India on June 14, 2025. It’s not just any car – it’s what grown-ups call a “four-door coupe” that runs on electricity instead of gas!
The Jaguar Type 00 is traveling around the world to show people what future cars might look like. It has already visited Paris and London, and is currently in Monaco. After that, it will go to Munich and Tokyo. People will be able to buy this car in 2026, but first Jaguar needs to finish making the final version in late 2025.
Why This Car Is Extra Special
HT Auto reports that this car can drive 770 kilometers on just one full battery charge! That’s like going from one big city to another without stopping. According to Jaguar Media, if you use the American way of measuring (called EPA), it can go about 692 kilometers. And when the battery gets low, you can add 321 kilometers worth of power in just 15 minutes of charging!
The outside of the car looks kind of like a tank, with sharp lines and angles. It has a long front part (called a bonnet) and a roof that slopes down toward the back. Some people who have always liked Jaguar cars think it looks too different from the old Jaguars, while others think it’s very cool. Already, more than 32,000 people have told Jaguar they’re interested in this car!
The Car’s Special “Backbone”
Autocar India tells that the Jaguar Type 00 uses something called JEA, which stands for Jaguar Electric Architecture. Think of JEA as the car’s special backbone that was built from scratch just for electric cars. According to Futurride, this new backbone helps the car drive in a way that’s fun and comfortable.
EVFY (another car news place) says that all future Jaguar electric cars will use this same JEA backbone. And Motor Authority tells us something really impressive – this special backbone can help the car have up to 1,000 horsepower! That’s super powerful, like having the strength of 1,000 horses pushing your car!
